The CWG medal record holders in the men's category are the brothers Goran and Igor Bistric from Los Angeles. At the 2006 Games Goran has won eight gold medals from which six for the USA and two in relays as a member of the CWG Team. Igor has won two gold medals with the CWG Team and five individual silver medals representing the USA. The Bistric brothers will attempt to defend their medals despite a much stronger competition than in 2006. All swimming competitions will be held at the new VisnjikCenter pool and should be a real treat for competitors and spectators.

Archbishop Ivan Prendja has died!
Monday, 25 January 2010 09:35
Farewell our shepherd and friend
We are bringing you the sad news that last night in his sleep archbishop of Zadar, Msgr. Ivan Prendja, has passed away! The late archbishop was a great friend of the Croatian World Games and without his help it is questionable whether the first Games in 2006 would have taken place at all. We remember his inspired homily during the mass on the opening day of the Games when he said: “Come to us, come to your home, your homeland. Feel the love of the Mother who joyfully awaits you“. Thank you father for all you have done for us!

Participant accommodation in Zadar
Monday, 11 January 2010 13:40
More time for relaxation and support!
Contrary to 2006 when all participants were accommodated in Zaton, this year all participants will be lodged at various locations in the city of Zadar. All delegations will be housed close to the city center and in the area called Puntamika. This option will drastically reduce traveling time between sport grounds, accommodation and evening events, giving more time for the beach as well as supporting other athletes at various competitions.

How to participate at the CWG without a team?
Due to high importance we are repeating this article.
Looking at the medal list of 2006 many have wondered what Team CWG means. It's very simple - Team CWG is the answer to the title above. If you're interested to participate in a team discipline and your application is from a country where no team can be formed due to lack of players, it is very likely that you will compete for Team CWG. In this case your teammates will come from different countries. For example, at the 2006 Games the basketball CWG Team consisted of players from the USA, Canada, Belgium, Germany and Slovakia. One obstacle less to be part of the Games!
